Student Helpdesk System Project using C#, ASP, and MySQL
The Student Helpdesk System is a platform designed to provide assistance to students and staff members in educational institutions. It offers a user-friendly interface for managing student information and records. The system ensures the accuracy and up-to-date maintenance of student data, covering various aspects of student information. With user authentication, the system displays relevant information for individual students. It features a comprehensive logging system to track user access and ensure data security, enhancing the efficiency of the Student Helpdesk System and simplifying information access and delivery.
A student web portal enables students to access profiles, marks, attendance details, and study materials from a centralized location using a single login. The portal can be customized to suit individual preferences.
Our project team was tasked with justifying the development of a student web portal for the college, conducting interviews with students, staff, and faculty to gauge interest and gather input on desired features, researching best practices from other colleges with similar portals, and proposing management models for the portal project. We also presented three potential user interfaces and suggested names for the student web portal.
The primary objective of the web portal is to streamline college operations by reducing paperwork, offering more online services and transactions, and improving access to information and content. By consolidating student services into a single platform, the student web portal simplifies service discovery and utilization.
We employed surveys, focus groups, and interviews to gather feedback from students, faculty, and key personnel at institutions with operational student portals.
Stakeholders expressed a desire for a user-friendly, secure portal that safeguards student privacy and utilizes a roles database to target information to specific student groups. Adequate funding for the project was identified as a key concern.
