Overview of the Electricity Billing System Project

Our project focuses on providing an electricity billing system implemented in Java with complete source code. The main objective of this project is to automate certain tasks performed by the Electricity Board, such as generating monthly electricity bills, recording energy consumption, storing customer information, and managing unpaid records. We utilized JSP (Java Server Pages) for the front end and MySQL for the back end development of this project. The Electricity Billing System project is built using Java, JSP, and MySQL. The system consists of two types of users: Customers and Admin. Customers have limited access rights, while Admin users have full control over the system. This project is ideal for students looking to learn Java programming through practical application. The project incorporates JSP for front-end logic, Java for business logic, MySQL for database management, HTML for structure design, CSS for web page formatting, and JavaScript for form validation and animation. Modules and Description of the Electricity Billing System Project:

Customer Module:

The Customer module is designed to handle all customer-related functionalities. It tracks and manages customer information, allowing Admin users to perform CRUD operations on customer data. Access restrictions are implemented to ensure that customers can only view their own data. Features of the Customer Module include:

• Adding new customer records by Admin
• Viewing the list of customer details by Admin
• Editing and updating customer records by Admin
• Deleting customer records by Admin
• Client-side validation of all customer forms using JavaScript

Bill Module:

The Bill module is central to the project, managing all billing-related tasks. Admin users oversee bill management, tracking and handling all bill information. CRUD operations for bills are implemented, with customers able to view their bill details. Features of the Bill Module include:

• Managing bills by Admin

• Viewing the list of all bills by Admin
• Allowing customers to view their bill details

Payment Module:

The Payment module focuses on payment-related functionalities, tracking and managing payment information. Admin users handle all payment tasks, while customers can view their payment details. Features of the Payment Module include:

• Viewing the list of payment details by Admin
• Editing and updating payment records by Admin
• Deleting payment records by Admin
• Client-side validation of all payment forms using JavaScript
